Sour Dough Bread

It’s a wet and stormy bank holiday weekend, so meal plans in place. Soups and Stews planned so we need fresh crusty bread for dipping.

Just done first stage of sour dough, 1st prove can take up to 4 hours.

I make my own sour dough starter.
Really easy to do, but as it takes up to 5 days, so patience is needed.

Sour Dough Recipe I use 100g strong white bread flour mixed with 100ml warm water. Pop into sealed jar, date and mark with a pen. Leave in a warm place, window sill is a good place or by a radiator.
After a few days it should start to bubble and be a bit smelly.
Discard 100g of the starter (it makes great pancakes).
Keep feeding with same quantity at least 3 times a week and it will last a life time.
